It may surprise you but every day people conclude job campaigns with very little reliance on their resume. Instead the way they generated interviews was to send out a lot of very strong letters.
These can be letters for answering ads... letters for sending to an employer... networking letters... and many other applications. Their resume is held in reserve and only presented once people are interested and request more information about them.
I am a big believer in using stand-alone letters in a job campaign. They are easily tailored to each party and don’t reveal information that might get you ruled out at an early stage. Be sure to review the following discussions.
